Franklin Area Survival Center

Since 1980, the Franklin Area Survival Center's core mission has been to reduce food insecurity. In pursuit of that goal we currently operate a Food Pantry and Thrift store in Turners Falls.

The thrift shop is open to the general public and helps finance our food pantry. In an emergency, such as a fire or flood, the center will supply needed clothing and linens, free of charge, also additional food, to help the victims of a disaster. We have many contributors from the Franklin area community - See the list.

Hours of Operation

  • Food Pantry: 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday - Friday
  • Food Pantry Donations: 10 Am - 5:00 PM Monday-Saturday
  • Thrift Store: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday - Saturday
  • Thrift Store Donations - 10am to 5pm - 6 Days a Week

How to Receive Services

patrons outside the survival center

We are here to help if you are in need of food.

To sign up for services please stop by the food pantry (10:00AM - 1:30 PM Monday - Friday, 96 4th St., Turners Falls Ma.) and we will help you complete a client application. Please bring some form of identification if possible - it does not have to be government issue.

We also allow you to have someone else pick-up the food for you (a proxy).

Food is also available through Pop-up Pantries in coordination with some local Senior Centers to ensure we meet the needs of seniors with limited mobility:

South County Pop-up Pantry - 2nd Wednesday of each month

Bernardston Pop-up Pantry - Last Wednesdy of each month

Emergency Food is available anytime the Thrift Store is open.
